Shop the Loop - Capital MSI

The MSI MEG Prospect 700R PC case is the brightest-shining star of this show, thanks to a tailor-made EK-Quantum Reflection² distribution plate. This build is a visual experience in and of itself, but the accompanying video of the assembly and tube measurements diagram can give you an even closer look. Take a dive inside the Capital MSI and enjoy the results!

About the Build

This is the first Shop the Loop build that comes with a video of the build assembly so everyone can see firsthand how easy and quickly such a beauty can be created. As a bonus, we have also provided a tube measurement diagram so you can pre-cut all the tubing and have the system up and running in no time.

We start with the EK-Quantum Reflection² MEG Prospect 700R D-RGB – Plexi, a water cooling reservoir, routing, and pump solution made to fit the award-winning MSI MEG Prospect 700R and 700RL cases. This distro plate solution is specifically designed to provide advanced custom loop water cooling for these mid-tower gaming cases with the market-leading D5 pump.

The obvious choice is to use the Limited Edition EK-Quantum MSI MPG X670E CARBON EK X motherboard that comes equipped with the monoblock solution and offers unparalleled cooling for the VRM section and AMD® Ryzen™ 7000 series CPUs. It also provides a plethora of other nifty features, like an integrated flow meter and temperature sensor that allows users to have precise checks on their loop status. The PCIe Gen5 drives haven't been forgotten either, as a special heatsink cools both the PCIe 5.0 m.2 slots.

With both the distro plate and monoblock being EK-Matrix7 compliant, the tubing can be perfectly horizontal and aligned. Even the MSI Suprim X 4090 GPU with its EK-Quantum Vector² Trio RTX 4090 water block is easy to position.

On the monoblock, a couple of 90° rotary adapters with 14mm extenders are used, followed by prebent tubing and fittings for the distro plate.

For the GPU, two 21mm offsets on the distro plate put the tubing in line with the GPU terminal equipped with a 90° rotary adapter at one port and two 90° rotary adapters at the other. But, if you go for the ABP set, instead of the 21mm, 14mm offsets for the distro plate should be used.

The front and top radiator are both Performance-size 360 versions, and they easily connect to the distro plate thanks to the Matrix7 standard. The front radiator needs a 14mm extender and a 90° rotary adapter, with the tubing placed on the inner port. The prebent tubing is cut to size and installed on the other port. The top radiator needs only a 90° rotary adapter for the inner port and prebent tubing for the other port.

Fan setup is also simplified with EK’s latest FPT fans that feature the EK-OmniLink solution, which allows daisy-chaining of multiple fans, reducing cable clutter and greatly easing cable management. On top of that, these fans provide high-static pressure radiator cooling while keeping the noise down.

The red and nickel theme was achieved with pre-bent metal tubing and some other details like a nickel cover for the D5 pump, nickel fittings with red color rings, and Quantum Torque plugs instead of regular black compression rings and plugs.

For the cherry on top (or rather on the side), we have installed an EK-Quantum Lumen 7” LCD screen for a custom visual experience. At the same time, the front panel enables you to monitor and control D-RGB lighting, fan speeds, and coolant temperature at the plug sensor. This temperature plug sensor is placed inside the drain port at the back of the distro plate and connects to the case-control unit instead of the provided case thermal sensor. Unfortunately, two holes need to be carefully drilled in the side PSU cover to mount the Lumen screen, and the radiator side cover needs to be painted black. This is why the build’s difficulty level grows to “hard,” even with no tube bending needed.

Hardware Specifications:

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Always check your GPU for a compatible water block (https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/).
  • Choose the correct CPU block for your platform (https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/).
  • Tube measurements are made for the exact components in the example build and need to be checked for proper fitment.
  • Check your motherboard for available D-RGB and PWM headers, and choose proper cable accessories for D-RGB and PWM connections of EK-Loop products accordingly.
  • Do not use chemicals or alcohol on Acrylic/Plexi surfaces.
  • Do not use acidic preparations or chemicals to clean your loop. We recommend our EK-CryoFuel Loop Cleaner and Superflush solutions (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-cryofuel-loop-cleaner-superflush-concentrate-250ml ).
  • For the installation of the Lumen LCD screen, two holes need to be drilled in the side PSU cover.
  • Radiator end pieces are to be painted black.
  • Please contact our Customer Support, if you have any questions.

CAUTION:

  • One of the products in this Kit, the EK-Quantum MSI MPG X670 CARBON EK X D-RGB, has reached the End of Life. Please choose the appropriate Water Block replacement HERE and manually add it to your cart. Note: If you are using a CPU water block instead of a monoblock solution, please contact Customer Support and they will replace the fittings in your cart accounting for the change.
