Shop the Loop - Dream Spirit

This compact yet mighty PC build is packed with some serious hardware and features a 360 and another 240mm radiator. It owes its refined and minimalistic aesthetic to the unique EK-Quantum Velocity² solution that acts as a pump, reservoir, and CPU water block. The distinguished look of the Fractal North PC case is preserved with the black and orange color scheme, including some nickel accents and moderate RGB effects. The variety of Torque fittings only adds to the build's visual appeal.

About the Build

Small form factor PC cases always demand special attention and more precise loop planning. Luckily, EK has a broad portfolio of products that allows SFF cases to house powerful components. To maximize the cooling performance, a Performance-sized 360 radiator was mounted at the front with another Slim 240 radiator at the top. Both radiators are EK-Quantum Surface Black Edition, meaning they are all-black, including their end caps. With proper fan tuning, these can efficiently cool even the most demanding hardware on the market, and our chosen EK-Loop FPT fans will help them do just that by utilizing Full-Pressure Technology. At the same time, these fans provide just enough RGB lighting for the theme of this build, but if you prefer an even more stealthier look, the RGB can always be turned off.

We went with the acetal version for the GPU block to maintain the predominantly black aesthetics. The EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder EVO - Gen4 Riser was used to get the GPU in a vertical position while the stock terminal on the water block was switched for the SFF version. This helps lower the port positions and offset them to the side, providing a cleaner look and better tube routing options in such a small case. With that said, it does not matter which EK GPU water block you go with – as long as it's not an active backplate set, it will perfectly fit in front of the CPU water block combo.

If you are wondering what exactly that CPU combo unit does, the EK-Quantum Velocity² DDC has an integrated pump and a reservoir inside the CPU water block. All of that adds to its height, but thickness is not an issue here as long as we don't have to worry about fitting a separate pump and reservoir inside an SFF chassis. Its powerful DDC pump provides enormous pressure, efficiently handling coolant circulation through all those tube bends. Just keep in mind it will take several tries to fill this loop completely, but an integrated reservoir will do the job.

Tube routing for this build was very carefully planned. Achieving those neat tube bends might seem challenging, but no bending will be necessary. All tubing in this build is our pre-bent hard tubing that you only have to cut to the proper length. And no matter which exact motherboard or GPU you go with, as long as we have a water block for it, it will fit into this liquid cooling loop due to the careful loop planning we mentioned earlier.

For a stylish touch, those 14mm acrylic pre-bent tubes were combined with black HDC 14 fittings with nickel rings. The CPU block needs one 90° micro rotary adapter and two HDC fittings. The same goes for the GPU block: one 90° micro rotary adapter and two HDC fittings. The top radiator needs one 21mm offset and an HDC fitting on each port to keep the tubing parallel. The front radiator has a T-splitter on each port with an HDC fitting on the top and a 90° micro rotary adapter with a drain valve on the bottom. Yes, there are two drain ports in this loop – one on each port of the front radiator. This will simplify the loop-draining process with minimal need for case tilting.

And finally, all that's left is to test the loop for leaks and fill it up with EK CryoFuel coolant. Amber Orange is the ideal hue for this build's color scheme, but feel free to choose a different coolant color. Just don't forget to share the final result on our social media!
