Mark Tanko Returns as CEO of EK

Mark Tanko returns as CEO of EK.
Changes in leadership at EK
Mark Tanko has returned as CEO of EK, operating under LM TEK d.o.o., the Slovenian company that completed its acquisition of the EK brand in late 2024 and has operated the webshop since March 2025.
Mark led EK during the years the community knows as its strongest period, when the brand stood as the pioneer and leader in the PC open loop cooling space. He later joined Corsair and oversaw the establishment of the Corsair Hydro X custom cooling product lineup, the iCue Link ecosystem, and their development into mainstream prominence.
Mark was not part of the management structure during the period that led the company into financial difficulties, but he accepts that this is a legacy the brand must accept and overcome.

Operational status. Old salary obligations and government tax debts have been serviced. Supplier and bank debts have been significantly reduced already and what remains is under structured long-term repayment plans.
An open issue of undelivered orders from the past also remains. Many of these can’t be resolved with fulfillment. We are addressing these with a phased settlement plan. To disclose and track our progress, we set up a public dashboard at https://transparency.ekwb.com.
The EK webshop is fully operational, new products are being developed and shipped to end customers, distributors, and resellers.
Debt repayment. The EKWB d.o.o. company continues to exist only to service the remaining debts. It uses income for these debt repayments from EK brand license royalties paid by LM TEK d.o.o.. EKWB d.o.o. will continue to exist until all debts are repaid. Edvard remains committed to stay as the CEO and sole employee in EKWB d.o.o. until the debt balance is closed. The former company leadership has no remaining operational role in the LM TEK d.o.o. company, the EK brand, development or business operations.

Mark Tanko, CEO of EK and Fedja Hvastija, Marketing Director of EK
“I’ve been back at EK for six weeks, focusing on understanding the current state of the business before making any major statements or commitments. As you know the whole PC industry is in a downturn and it’s important that we assess the situation thoroughly and act based on facts, not assumptions.
EK has a strong foundation and a community that cares deeply about the brand. Rebuilding trust with partners, customers, and the wider industry is our immediate priority. I’m working alongside Fedja Hvastija, formerly Marketing Strategist at Corsair, as well as a number of experienced team members who have remained with the company despite the hard times they faced. Together, we are focused on restoring operational excellence and strengthening EK’s position in both the enthusiast and professional workstation markets.
We will share more once we are confident in the direction and the timing. In the meantime, I will personally reach out to journalists and partners who have followed EK’s story closely to ensure open and constructive dialogue.”
