Shop the Loop - Side Task

This build is perfect for those who want to use the same machine for their office and gaming ventures. It packs a dual X360 radiator setup to help you reach immense cooling power while keeping the operation silent. This gorgeous stealthy black build is housed inside the Corsair’s 7000D case and features an EK-Matrix7-compatible distribution plate, so you know building this beauty will be an easy task.

About the Build

With “Side Task,” we wanted to go with less RGB and focus on performance and silence.

The fantastic 7000D PC case from Corsair was paired with one of our favorite distribution plates, the EK-Quantum Reflection² 7000D D5 PWM D-RGB - Plexi. This distro offers a fully integrated water-cooling reservoir, coolant routing, and pump solution, enabling us to have not one but two thickest EK-Quantum Surface X360M rads. All this radiator power is coupled with the latest EK-Loop FPT fans for a proven and unparalleled combination of high-performance and silent operation, yet again pushing the boundaries of what top-end PC components can do.

Thanks to the EK-Matrix7 system, putting this loop together should be a walk in the park.

The Rads

The top radiator only requires the use of an EK-Quantum Torque Rotary 90° adapter on one port and a 28-mm EK-Quantum Torque Extender with another 90° rotary adapter on the other. This allows us to simply use some EK-Loop Hard Tubes and a couple of fittings to fully take care of this one.

The front radiator is also easy, only requiring a 90° rotary adapter on one port and a 28-mm offset on the other. We finished it with some more straight tubing and fittings, and both radiators were installed and ready to do what they do best.

The CPU

For the CPU, we used the Acetal version of the EK-Quantum Velocity² D-RGB – 1700 CPU water block to compliment the stealthy black theme and, of course, provide top-tier cooling to the processor.

Now, with the CPU socket being unusually high on the motherboard used in the example build, connecting to the distro plate and having perfectly horizontal tubes could’ve been an issue. But this is where the EK-Matrix7 standard comes into play again, enabling you to quickly eliminate this “issue” by using a couple of offset fittings. In other words, we simply used a 7-mm offset combined with a 14-mm extender and a 90° rotary adapter, and voila, the bottom port is now high enough to send the tubes over the RAM and DIMM 2 adapter. At the same time, we managed to level it with the port on the distro plate.

For the upper port, we used a 14-mm extender first and then added the 7-mm offset and the 90° rotary adapter. This was done so one offset could go over the other due to the ports being so close together.

To finish this section, we used a couple of pre-bent tubes cut to size and mounted with fittings.

The GPU

We saved the easiest for last! For the GPU, we went with the same Acetal finish for the EK-Quantum Vector² GPU water block. Mounting this bad boy to the case’s original vertical bracket only required using the EK-Loop PCI-E 4.0 Riser Cable.

We then used a couple of 90° rotary adapters and one 28-mm extender on the GPUs port to move the tubing toward the side distro plate. To keep the tubing horizontal, we only needed a couple of 7-mm offsets on the distro side. Again, we finished with pre-bent hard tubing to make this build fast and easy.

The only accent changes we went with are some gold rings on the fittings and gold surface radiator port adapters. The theme was tied together with a striking solid Laguna Yellow coolant as the cherry on top. The Side Task build is a perfect choice for those who seek that delicate balance between work and play, unprecedented (but silent) power and kick-ass aesthetics.
