About the Build
With so many amazing products in one PC, it is hard to choose where to begin, so let's start with the fantastic distro plate. The EK-Quantum Reflection² PC-O11D XL D5 distro has been upgraded further with a built-in screen, an integrated IPS LCD screen located at the front – a piece of innovation that just might be the next big thing in the world of water-cooled PCs. The display is perfectly positioned not to disturb the loop and to conveniently showcase your loop’s performance stats, for example.
The distro plate itself is filled with custom mixed coolant to complement the cornucopia of gold products in the loop. And let's not forget that all the liquid cooling products in this build are EK-Matrix7 compliant, which translates into a quick and easy PC building process with no guesswork involved!
CPU and GPU Cooling
The CPU cooling is handled by the high-performing EK-Quantum Velocity² D-RGB - 1700 Nickel + Gold. This premium-quality gold-plated CPU water block is designed for the new Intel® socket LGA 1700-based platform. It is EK-Matrix7 compliant, features a next-generation socket-specific cooling engine, and is mounted via a patent-pending EK-Exact Mount system. The CPU socket is not always in the same place as it depends on the motherboard model, but no matter which motherboard and CPU you go with, we got you covered. With the help of offset fittings, those ports will align perfectly. And if you opt for the monoblock, the alignment is perfect by default.
The GPU is enclosed in the EK-Quantum Vector² RE RTX 3080/90 ABP Set in an acetal finish to offset all that gold and provide top-tier cooling for the graphics card. Minimalistic straight lines dominate the new look of these next-gen water blocks, while all Vector² GPU Active Backplate cooling enclosures feature an 11mm-thick copper cold plate and a full-sized backplate water block. The acetal-finish Vector² GPU water blocks provide a stealthy all-black look. Still, they are also equipped with a sophisticated addressable RGB light that envelopes the entire water block, ensuring that even the backside has an elegant visual effect.
Tubing and Fittings
For this build, we went with black metal tubes as they match those gorgeous gold-plated fittings so incredibly well. Since all the tubing runs are straight or feature push-in fittings, you know the assembling process will be a breeze, even for novice PC builders. The radiators’ slide-in type of connection and a minimal list of simple additional fittings introduce even more simplicity to the building procedure.
In case you are using a wider water block (compared to the reference one used in the build), you’ll only be required to use a pair of 14- or 21-mm offset fittings, depending on the AIB block’s width, and you’re good to go.
Radiator and Fans
The case harbors three large-sized EK-Quantum Surface radiators of premium quality and performance, designed and built upon years of development and market research to deliver the best product that the market demands. The finish of the materials, mechanical rigidity, and performance have all been brought to another level. Like all other Quantum line products, EK’s brand new Surface radiators bring numerous improvements in terms of thermal performance, coolant flow restriction, and airflow restriction.
The loop also features all-new Full Pressure Technology fans that evolved from the Vardar fans with the help of EK’s know-how and applied experience. They are the best match for the Surface radiator, providing enormous static pressure at low noise volume.
Aesthetics
D-RGB lightning combined with the custom mixed coolant adds the much-needed unique touch in terms of aesthetics. The distro plate’s gold lighting was set separately so it is offset from the cool blue used in the rest of the LEDs. And we did not forget to cover the pump and the M.2 SSD with their own gold-plated heatsinks.
